Hi! My name is Kasey. I am a New York based actress and a singer-songwiter. I was born and raised in East Tennessee. I love tacos, margaritas, traveling, family and well, a lot of other things. I am happy that you are here to find out about my life as a performer. Thank you for your interest!
I am thrilled to announce the release of my DEBUT EP!! What a whirlwind of emotions THAT was! (excited, scared, stressed, anxious, giddy, but mostly PROUD!) When I moved to New York to pursue acting I had no idea that creating music was in my future, but I am very happy to find out that it was. The songs on this album are little snapshots of emotions I have felt over the past few years. They touch on love, loss and what goes on in my head when I am waitressing ;) Each song has a special meaning to me and I am looking forward to sharing this EP with you. I hope you will check it out!
A little background on my life as an actress...
After getting a "real degree" in Tennessee I decided come to New York City and start my career as an actress. I started with getting some great training at The Actors Center (Now The Studio/New York) and Upright Citizens Brigade. I soon joined theater companies around the city and eventually became co-founder of (Re:) Directions Theatre Company. Starting a theater company taught me a lot about the amount of time and money that goes in to producing theater. It also offered me the opportunity to originate a few roles such as the role of Sedona in Steve Ives, "Bordertown." I have moved on from that endeavor, but will be forever grateful for the time I was involved.
I have since starred in a number of indie films and had the opportunity to work with some amazing directors such as Marc Fratto (Hell Fire), Chris Notarlie (Perfect: Android Rising) and Michael Angelo (Reflecting Adrienne). I love making movies!! It's so much fun to see the final product and know about what went on 'behind the scenes' :)
I have to say that as a performer, I want to be fearless. Whether that means digging a little deeper to write a song with meaning, or putting on my best demon-possessed hooker face. I like a challenge, and I hope that my work will inspire, evoke some sort of emotion and allow me to connect with others.
What's Next? (other than starring in Andy Samberg's next music video an playing Paul Rudd's love interest in his next flick?)
Like I said in the beginning...I love tacos and margaritas. So much so that I wrote a rap about it. And I am pretty sure that that rap needs a video. 'Tacos, Tacos yeah!"
If you wanna stay in the loop you should join my email list! I won't bug you too much and you are probably gonna wanna hear this rap. #justsaying
Thanks for stopping by and for your support always!
