Florida's Michael Ray has a resonant voice and a knack for crafting vibrant, upbeat contemporary country-rock. Although he built a strong grassroots fan base in Southern Florida, he also gained prominence as the winner of the CW network's reality television vocal competition The Next: Fame Is at Your Doorstep in 2012. After taking home the crown, Ray signed with Atlantic Nashville, landing his first Top Ten hit with "Think a Little Less" in 2016. That track, along with 2018's breezy "One That Got Away," emphasized his facility with soulful rhythms and pop hooks, but 2021's Higher Education EP underscored his harder country roots. He continued to explore the shorter format on 2023's Dive Bars & Broken Hearts EP.

Love and Theft are a pop-country act built around the striking harmonies of Eric Gunderson and Stephen Barker Liles. After a pair of early hits -- "Runaway" went to 10 in 2009, "Angel Eyes" topped the charts in 2011 -- they settled into relaxed, melodic groove that allowed them to slightly adapt to the times. Initially resembling a stripped-down Rascal Flatts, by the time the group released their fourth album, Need to Breathe, in 2023, the duo showed they could cannily add an adult alternative flair without losing their country flavor.

On December 15, 2008 it was announced that Tomlinson would be the second artist signed to Lyric Street's subsidiary label, Carolwood Records. His fourth single, "That's How It Still Oughta Be," made its chart debut in January 2009. That song fell from the charts in May 2009 and was replaced by "Henry Cartwright's Produce Stand". A third single, "Angels Like Her" (a re-recording of a song on his debut), was released on October 26, 2009, shortly before the closure of Carolwood. Tomlinson subsequently returned to Lyric Street before parting ways in March 2010. All three songs were included on an EP titled A Guy Like Me.

Tomlinson released "Man Without a Woman" via Skyville Records in 2011, and did not release an album despite the single charting. In 2014, Parmalee released the single "Close Your Eyes", which Tomlinson co-wrote. The song reached #4 on the Billboard Country Charts. In 2017, Brett Young recorded a song Tomlinson co-wrote ("In Case You Didn't Know") to #1! In 2022, Tomlinson's song "Damn Strait" (recorded by Scotty McCreery) reached #1 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart!
